Life, I believe, is a series of freedoms—the freedom to choose a path, and to choose it again. Even memories and emotions we once thought were lost can be retrieved and held once more.
Doors, shoes, and bags are symbols of “the self that steps forward” and “the inner journey.” Through painting and clay, they embody both “the me who is here now,” “the me of the past,” and “the me I have yet to meet,” quietly engaging in dialogue with one another.
Each work is both an encouragement to myself and, in this exhibition, I hope they may also gently touch the unopened doors within you.
