At art university, I encountered the tempera technique and became fascinated by materials such as gold leaf, pigments, and plaster. In my twenties, I spent six years in Paris and Antwerp, engaging in art and fashion design.
In my forties, I resumed creative work, and in my fifties, I began ceramics. Today, I pursue the fusion of painting and ceramics, using gold leaf and traditional Japanese glazes.
The memory of childhood play—carving away layers of color in which I was once absorbed—remains the source of my present expression. My works quietly draw up the memories and emotions left deep within the heart, while also serving as a gentle encouragement to myself.
